New York, NY- As the first week of the season presses on, the league’s first games have been played, with the Seattle Stormtroopers being the only team to emerge as an obvious threat to the success of other teams. The coming of another week also means the second installment in The Legend’s analysis of the New York Nightmare; the victims this week are TE Usain Bolt and LBs Carlos Gonzalez, Al Capone, and Danny Wright.

TE- Usain Bolt, #88, Jamaica
The Artist Formerly Known As Ron Mexico will certainly be one of the main weapons in the Nightmare offense. Serving as the team’s GM, Bolt sacrificed his quarterback spot to play tight end and providew a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. In week one, he dropped two passes, but that was probably as a result of shakes from the position switch. Usain will indubitably improve on his pass-catching ability and looks to be a big part of both the running and passing game. Whether the opponent matches a linebacker or a corner up him, his athleticism and size will make him a great target for Rayder to frustrate the defense with.

OLB-Carlos Gonzalez
Gonzalez is no superstar, but he gets the job done. When he steps on the field, New York knows they have a man that will make the stop that needs to be made and execute his tackles well. He has the ability to make big plays and endless potential, but for now it appears he will be a cog in the Nightmare machine, without which the defense would not function as well. He can help New York the most this year by simply doing his job and sticking to his assignments.
MLB- Al Capone
In Capone, the Nightmare have one of the most talented, athletic linebackers in the league. Already known to be one of the hardest workers around, Capone will be the man to stop a running back for a loss and then make an interception on a crossing pattern on the next play. Look for him to by flying around the field demolishing any offensive player foolish enough to take him on. Capone could put the team on his back, but the way he can help New York the most is to stop opposing offenses for gains of two yards or less and not overplay a run or fall for play-action fakes on pass plays.
OLB- Danny Wright
Wright started the season as a running back but unselfishly gave this position up to Brandon Iceman, becoming another cog in the Nightmare defense. Like Gonzalez, Wright is not a superstar, but he gets the job done. If he can do what he needs to, the Nightmare defense will be able to seal off the edges and keep opposing running backs between the tackles, where Capone will be waiting for them.
That is all for this week’s analysis installment, stay tuned next week for an analysis of the Nightmare’s defensive backs and how they look to contain the league’s more dangerous receivers.
