Williams is excited to receive two offers from two great teams in the USFL. Both the St. Peter Griffins and Reno Predators have offered the rookie single year $1M contracts. The only difference between the two is that the Griffins have offered one year at strong safety, while the Predators have offered him the same contract, but instead, for his preferred position of fullback.
“I think I would rather play fullback this season and maybe explore other positions in upcoming seasons. After recently switching from wide receiver to fullback, and putting the effort into learning the position this off-season, I think I want to stick with that. Obviously that’s not my final decision as I still have to consult with a few trusted people and my agent but that’s what I’m leaning towards,” stated Williams when asked if he’d made a decision.
Williams didn’t mention this but, sources say that he is good friends with Predators player Dick Lane. Although that shouldn’t affect his decision to much it may help to have a friend in the locker room to help you through your rookie season.
Whatever Williams decides on, the team should be happy to have him as he seem dedicated to improving his game and always doing his best.
Whether at strong safety for the Griffins or fullback for the Predators this year, expect to see Stricker make an impact on the field as he could be a menacing force out there.
