New York Nightmare quarterback Tom Rayder stated during the press conference following the Nightmare’s game against divisional rival St. Peter that he was disappointed in his inability to contribute to the team’s offense enough to provide even a single touchdown.
The Nightmare lost, 9-6, as Rayder went a pathetic 6-for-23 for 89 yards and an interception. “I was just flat-out bad out there today. I know that I can do better, but until I prove it, obviously there’s going to be doubts. I pride myself on my accuracy, but even without the dropped passes, I still would only have completed ten passes the entire game. I wasn’t getting the ball where it needed to be, and I take all of the blame for that. I’m going to work on getting better at hitting my receivers in stride and keeping drives moving so that maybe we can score more than three points on a drive.”
The Nightmare face the Reno Predators next week, in a matchup of week-one losers. The Nightmare offense looks to produce more than a nightmarish (in a bad way) six points in the entire game. The defense produced for New York, but without points on the board, they can’t win.
“Mark my words,” Rayder stated, “We’re going to put at least one touchdown on the board against Reno, and if we can keep drives going, there’s no reason we should lose.”
