Worcester, MA- Tom Rayder recently made fact the rumors of a highly anticipated return to football following the collapse of the VFL. The former all-star and Co-General Manager of the Wellington Hurricanes has been floating around hints that he may not be done with football, but nothing solid surfaced until Monday.
“I’m going to be playing again,” said Rayder, “Only this time, I’m going to be gunning the ball to my receivers instead of covering them like I did in the VFL’s last season.”
Tom made the switch from OLB to CB to fill a major hole in Wellington’s defense before the VFL was finished, but in his time off he was rumored to be seen in the weight room completing lifts commonly believed to be fit for a quarterback. These rumors were quickly dismissed, but the truth behind them has now surfaced.
“I’m excited to be a big part of a team’s offense once the UFSL starts up, I know that I can contribute and help my team win week by week,” he stated, “Once I get under center, you guys will see, where I go, winning follows, and where there’s winning, there’s championships. Get ready boys, because the championship tradition is about to get started.”
