After a lot of waiting and tension, the New York Nightmare selected star WR from Florida State, Carlos Gonzalez, with the 32nd pick. Gonzalez led the FBS with 1203 yards receiving and 13 TD receptions. Gonzalez was one of the top WR’s in the draft, but was selected late due to questions about his activity. “I’m here to play, and impress. That’s all,” said Gonzalez after he was asked about his activity. We were also able to get in touch with Nightmare scouting director Brian Weeks after the draft, “We think Carlos brings in speed, leadership, and everything you’d want in a football player.” There have also been rumors that Gonzalez is being spoken to about a possible change to SS. The Nightmare have a need at SS which would be best to fix from within, and Gonzalez might be the guy to take the position. “Like I said before, I’m here to play and impress. So if that means having to move to strong safety, then I’m all for it. I just want to help the team win,” said Gonzalez after being asked about the move. The season is set to start pretty soon, so we’ll see how everything pans out. Reporting for the Channel 8, I’m Glen Klien.
