This is Taylor "The Hitting Machine" Green. I will be doing a series on what my player has gone through in this league. In a previous article in the Hotwire I mentioned that I am now a Storm Trooper. I will now give a more detailed account of the draft night and how I felt as I was waiting in the green room. I had been invited by the league to attend the draft night festivities by league officials. I was watching the big draft board as the picks were made.

The draft was starting and in the green room the majority of the players thought that either Tyler Barabash or Christopher Miller would be pick number One and the other would be second overall.
The first round went as follows:
1. New York Nightmare - ATH Christopher Miller
2. St. Peter Griffins - ATH Darrell Jones
3. Seattle Stormtroopers - ATH Tyler Barabash
4. Reno Predators - ATH Rock Afella
The Green room was shocked that Tyler Barabash had fallen to the Seattle Stormtroopers.
I was getting prepared to hear my name called soon. I had received a lot of interest from the New York Nightmare. They were very interested in me from both the combine and my pro day. They had told me they would draft me in the third round which was pick number nine.
The second round was then announced. It went as follows:
5. Reno Predators - WR Devin Street
6. Seattle Stormtroopers - SS Jamaal Stockton
7. St. Peter Griffins - FB Maple Syrup
8. New York Nightmare - ATH AJ Rockin
The Green room was starting to empty out now because eight players had been drafted. I was getting excited as I was expecting to be the next player announced.
The Third round was announced. These were the Third round picks.
9. New York Nightmare - ATH Al Capone
10. St. Peter Griffins - ATH JD Boom
11. Seattle Stormtroopers - TE KJ Bryant
12. Reno Predators - CB Little Planet
I was sitting in the green room in disbelief. I had been passed over by the New York Nightmare and then saw that another CB had been drafted in front of me with the 12th pick.
I thought ok the Fourth round was being announced. I was expecting to be picked in this round at least. These were the Fourth round picks.
13. Reno Predators - HB Elijah McNugget
14. Seattle Stormtroopers - S Jordan Oakley
15. St. Peter Griffins - HB Marcus Kennard
16. New York Nightmare - WR Jimmy Graham
I finally got a phone call before the results of the Fifth round was posted. It was the GM of the Seattle Stormtroopers. He asked me how active would I be. I said very and then I was told welcome aboard. Moments after the phone call I saw the Fifth round was posted.
17. New York Nightmare - QB Tom Rayder
18. St. Peter Griffins - QB Lawson Forbes
19. Seattle Stormtroopers - CB Taylor Green
20. Reno Predators - MLB Dominique Johnson
I had mixed emotions. I was very happy that I had finally been drafted by the Seattle Stormtroopers. I found out from the GM of the New York Nightmare they were planning on taking me with the #20 pick. I was disappointed that I had fallen to the Fifth round. I decided then that I would work hard and make the other teams regret not drafting me. I would work to be a steal of the draft.
The first order of business is to determine if I need to hire an agent or not. I knew that most agents would want between 10 and 20 percent commission. I do not want to pay that. I have decided to be my own agent. Some people think its crazy but I was able to hire a personal Assistant and a travel agency and an accountant. Their combined salaries were less than some agents wanted.
The Seattle Stormtroopers had arranged a chartered flight for all their draftees to be able to tour the team facilities and to be able to work on getting a contract signed. I took a chartered flight to Seattle so that I could negotiate my contract. I accepted a contract for 2 Million a year for three seasons. Six Million over 3 years was a great deal plus no money went to an agent.
I was very impressed with the team facilities and with the team management. I feel like our team will have the best defense. I can't wait to start this season.
