The time that everyone has been waiting for has arrived, the decision has been made. Hello everyone I’m Stuart Scott, and welcome to “The Decision.” I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, but while everyone was enjoying the holiday UFSL free agent rookie cornerback CJ Jordan was deciding on his big decision. He is here tonight to announce that decision on which team we will be a part of his rookie season.
CJ what made you get back into professional football?
It was really that I missed football itself. I missed waking up on Sunday and showing up to the stadium, I missed the excitement of the game. I also missed the fans, it’s the greatest feeling intercepting a pass and hearing that roar coming from the stands and then once you are tackled getting up and hearing the fans go crazy.
Was this decision hard for you to make? If so what made it hard?
Well it was a tough decision for me; I received offers from all four teams so I had my choice on to where I wanted to play. I took many different aspects into consideration, a few were players on the teams, the general managers of the teams, what position they were offering me to play, and of course the amount of money they were offering me. I also took into consideration of what was best for not only me but also my family.
OK CJ the time everyone has been waiting for has come, where will you be playing week 1 of the first season of the USFL?
Well… this was very tough but this fall I will be taking my talents to Seattle and become a member of the Seattle Stormtroopers. Again it was very tough but it is the best opportunity to really start my hopefully very successful career in a winning environment.
Why Seattle? What about being a Stormtrooper compelled you to agreeing to a deal with them rather than the other three teams in the league?
Seattle first off is a very quiet city, and I believe will be a very great place for me to begin my career. The fans there are great and love their Stormtroopers. The first big reason I choose Seattle was their front office, with Ikechukwu Osuwah and Lord Vader at the helm they are two very dedicated to winning general managers, which was compelling to me. I wanted to be a part of an organization that is trying to win the championship every year and will not stand for anything less which these two gentlemen stand for. Another major key to agreeing to play for Seattle is that I will be the starting number two cornerback for the team. Yes I am considered a safety but the position I have always wanted to play is cornerback. Seattle was the only team offering me a shot at playing cornerback, the other teams were offering me a contract to play outside linebacker and free safety. Along with giving the chance to play cornerback I get to play alongside arguably one of the elite cornerbacks in this league in Taylor Green. I feel like being on a team with Green will be very beneficial for the development of my game. I would like to thank the other three teams that offered me the opportunity to play for their team, who knows where my career will take me, but for now I am happy to be in Seattle.
Speaking of Seattle’s defense how good do you think this defense will be?
I think if we all work our hardest we could be the best defense in the league. I am really excited, we have talent at every position on the defensive side of the ball, and I predict big things from this defense this season.
