First Day in Training Camp
When Bam Risso rocked up late to the first day at training camp he knew he was going to have a tough time. Walking into the locker room, which looked long since abandoned by the other players, he quickly slipped into training gear and got to the field as quick as he could.
Bam quickly went to apologise to the coach when, out of nowhere, Lord Vader came flying through into the side of Bam.
Slowly Bam picked himself up, thinking to himself..... “I probably deserved that.”When again he was hit hard from the other side. This time very dazed he looked to the side to see Ken Sady smiling through the grill of his helmet. Again Bam slowly picked himself up and decided against running the gauntlet to the coach and just try to slide in to the DB drill.
The drill was quite plain and straight forward and eventually it lead to a training game. Offence Vs defence as was expected. Except Bam was asked to stand in as the opening kick off returner. Without hesitation Bam went and took his spot. The kick was long into the end zone. But Bam thought nothing of taking the return on. He had to prove himself. He kept his eyes on the ball took the catch cleanly and went about getting some yardage back up the field.
What he hadn’t realised was that the coach had a plan.
As Bam took his first look up he realised there were no blockers in front of him, they all took there places on the sidelines, getting the best view of what was about to happen.
Without more than a few seconds to decide what to do, Bam was hit. Hit hard.
When Bam finally awoke he was in with the medical team, with no memory of what just happened. Bam Risso had an eventful day at training but its a shame he doesn’t remember more than the first 45 minutes.
The medical team, consisting of quite attractive females, were very helpful with the situation. Although the hit had knocked Bam out for almost 10 minutes, no lasting damage was done. It did however knock Bam's pride.
Bam was unable to take the field for safety reasons for the rest of the days camp. Also to make matters worse he was unable to make the trip home on his own.
Bam's girlfriend turned up just after the incident hoping to get a chance to see her man strut his stuff. She was sorely disappointed. Supporting her man in the medical room, well I guess supporting isn’t quite the right word, every time Bam turned to talk to any of the female medical staff, his other half glared quite hard almost burning a hole in his head.
When training ended the coach made his way to shake hands with Bam. He explained why it happened and what happened after his blackout. Everything ended in a good way with each member of the team checking on Bam's condition.
Bam when cleared to leave almost an hour after everyone else had left the training facilities left and made a quick visit to the stadium looking up and dreaming of when he will be able to walk out onto the field for the first time and make the first step on the road to future championship gold.
