Now this wasn't the first time an online simulation of football was attempted. In fact there had been numerous leagues before. Unfortunately, the same fate was met to all before the UFSL. Flocks of nerds and sports fanatics alike would find their way to the upstart new league just to find it's self with a lack of simmers. As each league ultimately fell to the realm of the defunct, two young men found the the secret to simulation football success.
This is their story
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once upon a time in a land far far away, a small town by the name of South Park, Colorado would call home to something that changed everything the world knew about sim leagues. It all started with..
a Canadian.
His name was Bash. His mission was simple, to Pwn you. You see Bash wasn't your average American, in fact he wasn't American at all. Bash was Canadian and in Canada you pwned people. It didn't matter if it was on the ice, in the pub or at the farmers market you pwned anyone who tried you.
Why Bash was in the tiny town of South Park, and at an elementary school to bute(see what I did there?), will forever be a mystery. What we do know was his choice of school was nothing short of destiny. It was meant to be and what happened that early November day at South Park Elementary will forever go down as "The day those two dudes met".
While pushing to buttons of a young fat boy in South Park Elementary's 4th grade class there came a voice from the corner of the room. It was a well dressed white boy. He asked the Canadian why he was so angry.
"I'm not angry. That's just my sense of humor," explained Bash.
"You seem pretty angry," the young boy added.
What the boy didn't understand was that Bash needed a sim league. He had gone too long without a successful, fun sim league and it was driving him up the wall. Bash was on a quest to find anyone who would create a sim league for him and he was just about to luck out.
"You're acting like you just got maddened," said the boy who remains nameless.
Shocked and confused, Bash called out "What do you know about being maddenned?"
"No... What do you know about being maddened?" asked the boy.
Such a simple question and yet it opened up a storm of emotions from the Canadian. Bash went on to explain his horrible experiences while simming a madden football engine. How so many times he had sniffed the sweet smell of victory only for it to be taken away due to an ill-advised artificial intelligence that just couldn't throw an incompletion. How so many times he owned a player with superior skills only to be intercepted, tackled or out jumped by a lesser being.
"It's not fair," shouted Bash.
The boy approached the Canadian to address him personally. With a light pat on the shoulder and an understanding nod the boy shared with him of a way to play once more.
"What if I were to tell you we could fix that? We could create a league just you and I?" asked the boy.
"That.. That could never be," said a dejected Bash.
The boy went on to explain a way that the two could create a league that all would join, that would entertain and that could stand the test the time...
"That is if we found 'The One'."
"The One," asked Bash. "Who is the one?"
"A prophet of a different land. The giver and the receiver. The beginning and the end. He knows the way. He knows the answer. We must find him."
"A quest," said Bash.
"A quest indeed," explained the boy. "By the way... My name is Advantage."
