The New York Nightmare fell to 0-2 on Saturday, losing 6-0 to the Reno Predators. The Nightmare are still without a touchdown on the season and average just 3 points per game. This comes as a huge disappointment for a team whose offense was believed to have the highest potential of all those in the league coming into the season.
The game on Saturday was a display of the team’s struggles to this point. Though Rayder threw no interceptions, the team turned the ball over twice and completed only 4 of 21 passes for 42 yards.
“Obviously I wish we could have done better in the passing game,” Rayder said in a press conference after the game, “I mean I’m really frustrated by this. We should be able to produce at least 7 points in a game, but we’ve got 6 in two games. Also, I know it’s my duty to take a lot of the game, but nine drops are too many for us to win a game. I completed four passes, but if even just half of those weren’t dropped, that number would have doubled. I’m not blaming my receivers, I’m just saying I’m disappointed in our offense as a whole, including me.”
The Nightmare take on the Seattle Stormtroopers on Monday.
