Week 2 has passed in Fantasy football worlds and you know what that means. Its time for Fantasy Football Weekly. We were planning to go over two weeks worth of games here today but there was a delay in the league due to both the St. Peter Griffins and New York Nightmare having their entire squads locked up for various charges. Needless to say, the games eventually got under way and we can go over the Week 2 games for you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reminders on scoring rules:
Most points = 5

Each week I will tally up the fantasy points each team compiles based on these rules:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, it is time to tally up the scores and see who came out on top! Week 2 rankings are right here.
Quarterbacks[/u][/i]
[blue]Tom Rayder - 2.68[/blue]
[red]Rock Afella - 2.24[/red]
[purple]Lawson Forbes - 0.87[/purple]
Landon Carter - (-2.37)
Overall, it was a very bad week for the Troopers offense, especially Carter[/size]
Yet another bad week for quarterbacks throughout the league. It is to be expected though, with passing attacks still working out any kinks that are in them. The big issue for many QB's this week was running the ball. Cater lost over 5 points because of rushing yards and fumbles, and the other quarterbacks were not much better. Rock Afella led the league in yards once again but was marginally beat out by Tom Rayder due to Afella's two picks.
Running Backs
[purple]Maple Syrup - 27.6[/purple]
Ikechukwu Osuwah - 7.6
[blue]Brandon Iceman - 6.45[/blue]
[red]Elijah McNugget - 2.4[/red]
Expect to continue to see runningbacks own the most fantasy points, especially Maple Syrup.
Maple Syrup showed this week that size does, in fact, matter. He plowed through the defense gaining chunks of 5-6 yards per carry and even threw in a 91 yard touchdown run on his first carry. Its a good thing to have Syrup break out early, and expect him to continue his success throughout the year. Owners who were expecting Ikechukwu Osuwah to have another big game were upset after the Griffins defense held him to 64 yards and forced a fumble as well.
Fullbacks[/i][/b]
[red]Jimmy Fullback - 1.6[/red]
[purple]Brutal Pancakes - 0.4[/purple]
[blue]Scott Fullback - 0[/blue]
Mega Man - (-0.5)
Should Jimmy Fullback (above) even be allowed in the league? I don't think he's human!
A low scoring week in terms of fullbacks. Brutal Pancakes almost ran away with the show if it weren't for his fumble in the third quarter. He unexpectantly got 10 carries from the Griffin's playbook and racked up a whopping 24 yards. The big story is that a robot ran for 16 yards for the Reno Predators. Should this be legal? Apparently the UFSL commissioner believes in equal robot rights so I guess so.
Wide Receivers[/u][/i]
[purple]Marcus Kennard - 7.1[/purple]
[red]Dave Hester - 3.9[/red]
[red]Devin Street - 3.65[/red]
[purple]Carmanjello Williams - 2.85[/purple]
[red]Staphid Jervis - 2.75[/red]
Keon Henderson - 2.35
Jordan Oakley - 1.6
[blue]Jimmy Graham - (-0.25)
Christopher Miller - (-1.25)[/blue]
Marcus Kennard had a decent game despite the Griffins run game controlling the clock
Totals
[red]Reno Predators - 10.3[/red]
[purple]St. Peter Griffins - 9.95[/purple]
Seattle Stormtroopers - 3.95
[blue]New York Nightmare - (-1.5)[/blue]
When your entire passing attack ends up in negative points, you aren't going to win too many games. Miller and Graham combined for zero catches, zero yards, and six drops. They need to step it up for New York to have any chance of winning games. Marcus Kennard had the high points for the week, reeling in two catches for 51 yards and not dropping any.
Tight Ends
Aldous Steele - 4.6
[red]Dwayne Carter Jr. - 2.8[/red]
[blue]Usian Bolt - 1.05[/blue]
[purple]Cobra Bubbles - (-0.25)[/purple]
Aldous Steele is showing that he is a receiving threat.
Good news is that Usain Bolt had positive points this week. Bad news is it wasn't enough to pull the receiving corps total points into the positive side of the number line. Aldous Steele topped the leader board this week after having two catches for 36 yards. Nothing too flashy this week folks, sorry.
Defense
[purple]St. Peter Griffins - 20[/purple]
[red]Reno Reapers - 16[/red]
[blue]New York Nightmare - 14[/blue]
Seattle Stormtroopers - 11
The Griffins defense has had two big games in a row
Noone was stopping the Griffins from taking the top spot this week. Despite the Predators shutting out New York, St. Peter racked up seven sacks, forced three turnovers, and did not allow Seattle to get into the endzone. So far they are the only team to not have a touchdown scored against them. Between Syrup and the defense its easy to see why the Griffins are 2-0
Kickers
[red]Reno Predators - 8[/red]
Seattle Stormtroopers - 7
[purple]St. Peter Griffins - 5[/purple]
[blue]New York Nightmare - 0[/blue]
New York just couldn't catch a break last week
Kickers have been pretty steady this year so far. New York's kicker had the first miss of the year when he pulled a 51-yard field goal wide left. We'll see how that affects his fantasy value throughout the season but I would think his coach would let him off the hook for just one miss.
So lets tally our totals shall we?
Totals
[purple]St. Peter Griffins - 63.77[/purple]
[red]Reno Predators - 43.34[/red]
[blue]New York Nightmare - 31.81[/blue]
Seattle Stormtroopers - 31.28
Again there is a surprise the New York was not in last palce. It seems the the Griffins defense can shut down even Ikechukwu Osuwah enough to give the Stormtroopers the lowest points of the week. Maybe fantasy owners should try to avoid playing guys who are matched up against French Toast & Company for the time being, it doesn't seem to work very well. Maple Syrup had the high points of the week and helped his team earn top honors for points and allowed them to steal first place from Seattle.
