This is Taylor "The Hitting Machine" Green. I will start by giving a follow up to last weeks article. I previously mentioned this.
Investigation #1
The National Labor Relations Board or NLRB told the team that their will be a vote to determine if the Seattle Stormtroopers will be unionized. Will the rest of the league be forced to have a union vote? Will the USFL be forced to be a union?
The follow up was this. Bam Risso wants off the Seattle Stormtroopers. He was not pleased that the team voted not to have a union. The vote was by secret vote. Bam Risso wants a open vote. He believes that the vote was rigged. He is demanding a re vote. Bam Risso also wants off the Seattle Stormtroopers and is talking about retirement. He wants to be traded or released.
The USFL was glad that the union vote failed.
Investigation #2
The Federal Bureau of Investigation or FBI is now investigating a gambling ring. There are reports that the game between the St. Peter Griffins and the Seattle Stormtroopers was fixed. There are reports that some of the Stormtroopers took bribes. Could it have been KJ Bryant? Was he trying to repay some of his gambling debts? Was the simmer involved in the fix since their were not a lot of pictures during the sim. Here is a quote by the GM of the St Peter Griffins. "I agree. I'd like more pictures, but it's late over there"
The follow up was that KJ Bryant was found not guilty on the charges of taking bribes to fix games. The Simmer was also found not guilty.
Was the New York Nightmare vs Reno Predators game fixed as well? Was the league Administration involved in the scandal?
The follow up was no evidence was found to support the allegations
The UFSL does have a betting site. The site is run by league officials. The league up daters did not update players attributes before the week 2 games. Was this part of the fixing scandal? There was a delay in simming the New York Nightmare vs Reno Predators game. Were the simmers waiting for instructions from the leagues betting site? Were the quarterbacks and Wide receivers in on the scandal?
The follow up was that certain players were able to improve their players from the period 1 betting period.
This means that the gambling charges are still under investigation. The investigation of games being fixed is still under investigation.
The Week 3 game between the Seattle Stormtroopers and the New York Nightmare was ordered to be resimmed. This was due to improper playbooks being listed. Were the teams playbooks being leaked to gamblers? How did the playbooks get messed up? In other games playbooks were reported stolen and the league assigned playbooks to teams. The FBI is not happy about the situation.
This week the New York Nightmare defeated the Reno Predators and the Seattle Stormtroopers beat the St. Peter Griffins. This was a reversal from the previous match ups. The FBI is even more convinced that something is not right.
The St Peter Griffins and the Seattle Stormtroopers are both 4-1. The New York Nightmare has only one win. The Reno Predators also have only one win. This seems to be a battle for the Number 1 seed at the top and for the number 3 seed at the bottom. Will the top teams be able to continue to separate themselves at the top?
Will the New York Nightmares be able to beat out the Reno Predators for the last playoff spot?
League officials are not answering questions about this scandal. Stay tuned for more updates.
