if everyone starting running an offense going for a huge play on every down, why not make a defensive playbook where you drop everybody?
6'6" DB's are gonna start snagging 50 yard bombs if that's the entire game plan.

There are big play rushing attacks as well not true. when defensive lineman and linebackers read run in madden they abandon their assignment. thats what makes the playaction pass work. |

draw plays are useless in madden to cuz the lineman dont get out of the way like in real life. they are too busy still forming a pocket.
you could double cover both outside receivers and still rush 3 or 4. not to mention that if people start doing long routes you just blitz the day lights out of them off of the corner. ever heard of zone blitzing? that would work as well. it wouldn't be as bad as you're making it out to be.
those 6'6" DBs are equalizers.

You're literally talking about turning the league into a one dimension game. Its going to be stupid. earlier you said that runs would kill because of the deep passes, now you're saying that it would be one-dimensional. which is it? not every pass downfield is completed and if you send all your receivers deep, it's just more defenders in the area to bat the ball down. it would be an epic fail playbook to do what you're suggesting. |

Also Bash, if I remember correctly. You fought a TPE cap in the VFL because it "wouldn't hurt the activity of the league for one team to be dominant". Now you are fighting this because you don't want one team to be dominant. Pick one or the other.
This is a simple idea, that I am more than happy to be the coordinator of. We could make a quick task force to come up with some simple rules so you can't have all deep sets on offense, or all heavy blitz's on defense. It's actually a step towards realism, which I believe is what we try to do in every other aspect here.
If we aren't going for realism, I want a Green Skinned, 8'6", 375lb LOLB with 116 Speed and 97 Throw Power. I also want an 800million dollar, 1 year contract.
I exaggerate to illustrate my point.
